Rewinding Greeley ft Holly Berg

Aug 9, 2021

Though she wasn’t born here, Holly has spent the vast majority of her life in Colorado. She was raised in Colorado Springs and moved to Greeley to attend college at the University of Northern Colorado. After pondering what to do with the rest of her life, her academic advisor suggested exploring a career in museums. Turns out, that was fantastic advice. Many years later, she is now serving as the Curator of Exhibits for the City of Greeley Museums. Over the years, she has taken part in creating over 40 different exhibitions focused on colorful stories in our regional history and doesn’t plan to stop. She’s always telling her friends and family about the latest weird and wonderful stories she gets to research for upcoming exhibits.

The Greeley History Museum showcases and preserves Greeley and Weld County’s history through permanent and temporary exhibitions, educational programs, research and collections. Check out the museum’s main exhibit, “Utopia: Adaptation on the Plains,” and then head over to one of the museum’s other galleries, which include updated themes throughout each year. At the Greeley History Museum, artifacts, photographs and hands-on opportunities create a meaningful visitor experience. In addition to exhibits, the lower level of the museum contains the Hazel E. Johnson Research Center, which has an impressive collection of documentary and photographic resources available for researchers, students and genealogists. The building, originally built in 1929 for the Greeley Tribune, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and became home to the Greeley History Museum in 2005.
